How to Have the Best Wedding Day

Timing in the Morning is Everything!

This is probably the most important piece of advice we can give. Starting in the morning, you need to prioritise your time as much as you can! And make sure you share your timeline with your hair and makeup artists to make sure they know when you want to be finished!

It makes our lives so much easier if you’re in your dress 30 minutes before we need to leave. We usually leave 30 minutes before the bridal party leaves, so we can get to the ceremony venue in good time. So, if you’re planning to leave at 12.30, we’ll be leaving at 12, so you could be ready for 11.30.

You’ll want those lovely shots of your bridesmaids and your parents (or whoever is your parent figure!) seeing you for the first time, some shots of you all in your dresses outside the front door, and you’ll want to do that without having to rush!

P.S Make sure everyone knows that they need to be dressed before you are!

Make Sure You Eat!

You'll be nervous, but halfway through the ceremony you will absolutely 100% suddenly want a 20 box of nuggets from McDonalds, so make sure and get a good breakfast in you in the morning, and drink lots of water!

Don't Make you Formals List Too Long

Keep your formal group photographs to bridal party, parents and close family and a few friends. The longer your formals list, the less time you have to actually experience and enjoy your day, and from experience this is most couples' number one regret afterwards.

You've most likely paid a lottttttt of money for you big day, and we want you to actually get to enjoy it. You'll get sick of taking too many posed smiley photographs, so cut that list down!!!

Take Time for Yourselves

Try to take some time out together to let everything sink in. After all, you’ve just got married! As part of your schedule try to factor in some time for just the two of you, even just 15 mins!

Also, a good rule we've heard is to pretend you're handcuffed together throughout the day! It's easy to get pulled away to different groups of people, and you'll end up actually not spending your wedding day with each other. So go to all the groups together! Pretend you're tied at the wrists or joined at the hip and stick together all day. You won't regret it!

Ask your guests to put their phones away

Engage with Each Other!

When you're walking down the aisle, the worst thing you can see is a sea of phones staring back at you. Not only does it really ruin our shots, and therefore your final images and video, but it's so much nicer to see your loved ones smiling faces!

Asking your minister or celebrant to announce before the ceremony that phones and cameras should be kept turned off and in pockets or bags really makes our job so much easier.

During your ceremony, remember to smile at each other, hold hands, be as cute as possible! Remember we're documenting you, and we can only do so much with your resting face!

Also hold that first kiss for a few seconds!!!
